Anthony Tognazzini is a writer and musician. His fiction collection, I Carry A Hammer in My Pocket for Occasions Such As These, was published by BOA Editions. His fiction and nonfiction have appeared in Guernica, BOMB, Gigantic, Denver Quarterly, Crazyhorse, the Alaska Quarterly Review, Forklift, Ohio and TriQuarterly, among other journals, as well as in the anthologies PP/FF: An Anthology, Sudden Stories, and Return of the Kral Majales: Prague’s International Literary Renaissance 1990-2010 . He has received awards from the Academy of American Poets, the Associated Writing Programs, the Greer Artist Foundation, and fellowships from the Prague Summer Writer’s Workshop and Ledig House International Writer’s Colony. His one-act play “Answering Machine” was produced as part of the Vancouver Fringe Festival. He has taught literature, composition, and creative writing at the New School, the 92nd Street Y, Adelphi University, and Brooklyn Polytechnic University. He also runs the writing program and works as an advisor for the Kaplan Educational Foundation, a scholarship program that serves academically exceptional, traditionally underrepresented college students in New York City.
