Jessica Franck studied English and creative writing at Hollins University, a women’s college in the Blue Ridge mountains. While there, she was president of the literary society, co-editor of the undergraduate literary magazine, and received departmental honors, the Margaret Markley Smith Award for Excellence in English, Lex Allen prize in poetry, and honorable mention for the Academy of American Poets Prize. She has lived in an attic in Saint Paul, worked with many literary organizations such as the Minnesota Book Awards, and has never failed to mention the weather. Jessica is the 2013-14 recipient of the Yusef Komunyakaa Fellowship. Her work has appeared in CutBank.
