RACHEL LYON
(3rd Year Fiction)Rachel Lyon comes to Bloomington via Brooklyn, NY, her native city. In 2005, Rachel received her BA in art history and studio art from Princeton University. After graduating she lived in San Francisco for several years, where she worked as the deputy editor at the printmaking studio and independent publishing company Crown Point Press, and volunteered at 826 Valencia, the creative writing center founded by author Dave Eggers. Back in Brooklyn, she taught first and third grade at Saint Ann's School. Rachel has studied writing with Susan Wheeler, Linda Gregg and Joyce Carol Oates at Princeton, and with Julia Fierro, Aria Sloss and Heather Amy O'Neill at the Sackett Street Writers' Workshop. She is honored to be a student in the Fiction Program at Indiana University.
