presents a job talk and readings by:

Mark Halliday

The Job Talk will be Thursday, October 15, 2009 at 4:30 p.m. in the Bryan Room at the IMU, followed by a reading at 6:00 p.m.

J. Allyn Rosser’s third collection of poems, Foiled Again, won the 2007 New Criterion Poetry Prize and was published last fall by Ivan R. Dee. Her previous books are Misery Prefigured and Bright Moves. She has received numerous other awards for her work, among them the Morse Poetry Prize, the Crab Orchard Award, the Peter I.B. Lavan Award for Younger Poets from the Academy of American Poets, the J. Howard and Barbara M.J.Wood and Frederick Bock prizes from Poetry, and fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts, Yaddo, Bread Loaf, the Ohio Arts Council and the New Jersey State Council on the Arts. Her work has appeared recently in Slate, Poetry, The Hudson Review, The Paris Review, The Georgia Review, The Atlantic Monthly, The Kenyon Review, and Best American Poetry 2006.



Mark Halliday is the author of five collections of poetry: LITTLE STAR, a National Poetry Series Selection, TASKER STREET, winner of the Juniper Prize, SELFWOLF, JAB, and, most recently, KEEP THIS FOREVER. His poems have appeared in Best American Poetry and Pushcart Prize anthologies. In 2001 he was awarded the Rome Prize by the Academy of American Poets, and he was awarded a Guggenheim fellowship in 2006.

Both Mark Halliday and J. Allyn Rosser teach at Ohio University in
Athens, Ohio.
