Horsehair strainer
Wheat paste is refined by
straining it through a horsehair strainer, which ensures that its
consistency is absolutely uniform.
Glass/plastic boards
These are made of either glass
or Plexiglas. They are normally used in flat paper mending, in conjuction
with Japanese tissue and paste.
Sauce
cooker
Though it is actually a
kitchen tool, the sauce cooker is ideal for cooking wheat paste because
it both heats and stirs. This frees up time to be doing something other
than cooking it manually.
Spatula
Also the kitchen variety, the
spatula is used for scraping containers when making methyl cellulose and
wheat paste.
