Community Service Requirement
Engaging in meaningful Community Service presents a great opportunity to get involved in different activities in the community while making a contribution. Service Learning provides students with another avenue to develop new skills, take on a leadership position, and gain some professional experience in a field of particular interest. These experiences will help develop professional contacts and may lead to future internships and possible employment opportunities.
Effective Fall 2009, all HHSP scholars will no long be required to complete forty hours of community service with a single organization. Instead, all HHSP scholars (regardless if they have completed 40 hours with a service organization) are required to participate in their choice of two HHSP sponosored service projects during the Spring Semester.
More information regarding HHSP service projects for Spring 2010 will be forthcoming.
