Welcome to the web presence of the Hudson & Holland Scholars Program!

As stated in our mission, HHSP actively and purposefully recruits outstanding high school students with records of high academic achievement, a history of leadership, and a commitment to social justice. We are the strongest support unit on the Indiana University Bloomington campus in retention and preparation of students, with a graduation rate nearing 90% (considerably higher than the university rate).

It is the commitment of our program to assist undergraduate students seeking a first Bachelor’s degree fund their college career, while further investing in the academic, personal and professional development of each, toward a promising and successful future. Hudson-Holland carries out its mission through a mandatory LEAD initiative, including a freshman seminar for first year scholars, individual program counseling, conferencing, tutoring, supplemental instruction, post-baccalaureate preparation, and a collaborative mentor program in conjunction with the Office of Mentoring Services and Leadership Development (OMSLD). Our program’s philosophy is akin to the old African proverb—“It takes a village..."

While we realize and acknowledge our students are young adults, their college years are the beginning of the rest of their lives, and what they do to lay the proper foundation can and will catapult them to heights unknown. It is our commitment to guide, provide, and lead students to the tools necessary for their success: self-discovery, exploration and initiative; planning; informed, logical and independent thinking; and professionalism. Through deliberate program strategies and methodology, we are preparing the future leaders of tomorrow.
