Globalization
As with other educational institutions, IU competes on local, national and global scales for students and faculty who represent the best business, scientific, or artistic minds, and for various forms of support that lead to discovery and innovation. The future success for post-secondary institutions will be measured by an ability to engage in collaborative partnerships to foster innovation and meet increasingly diverse needs of the growing student population. These educational institutions are embedded in, dependent on, and must be responsive to an increasingly knowledge-based, highly competitive world economy.
